The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. was a husband, father, friend, servant of God, and Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha. He led through an unflappable faith, confidence, and conviction of purpose that led a movement to the promised land. And even though he didn't see us get there, his eyes saw our victory through a belief that the righteousness of the Lord would support a people destined for more than oppression.
In an effort to teach those who come behind us, the Alpha Policy Forum submits this post with a link to the greatest speeches of Dr. King in the hopes that those who do not know nor understand might take the time to learn and appreciate that the road we walk upon was paved in the blood of those who went before us.
Though his "I Have a Dream" speech is the most memorable (Complete Speech Here), and his "Letters from a Birmingham Jail" echoes Paul's epistles from the New Testament, his "I've Been to the Mountain Top" may have been the most prophetic, having been delivered shortly before his assassination in Memphis.
